It is very rewarding to think that OJNI has been in existence for 9 years! We launched our first edition in 1996. I would like to thank you, the reader, but also the superb Editorial Team that continue to support the journal’s evolution. Without their dedication and support, OJNI would not have remained a respected, internationally recognized, scholarly journal.

The OJNI Editorial Team strives to provide an environment that encourages the synthesis and dissemination of nursing informatics knowledge. OJNI continues to receive quality peer-review and student-based manuscripts. I am pleased to say that we have received 2 submissions thus far in 2005. We average approximately 30 submissions per year and would like to see that number double! Therefore, I challenge you to submit your work. It is through this knowledge sharing that the nursing informatics community will continue to refine this specialty and ultimately the nursing profession. Take an active role in the journal – submit an article and/or apply to become a member of the Editorial Team!

Let’s celebrate our collaborative accomplishments to this point. We must make a commitment to extend ourselves to amplify our efforts and make OJNI even better in 2005!
